We are a group of three senior biomedical engineering students from Washington University in St. Louis working in collaboration with Audra Sturmoski, PT, MSPT, NCS, who is a stroke and brain injury therapy manager at the Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis. Jake Hoyne
Jake Hoyne is a senior candidate for a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He has performed undergraduate research in tissue engineering in the lab of Dr. Donald Elbert and is a teaching assistant for Quantitative Physiology. Jake is applying to medical school this coming year, with hopes of attending a year after graduation. Jake's hobbies outside of engineering include playing the drums and volleyball.
David Glaubke
David Glaubke is a senior candidate for a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and is minoring in Communication Design, with plans to attend medical school in the future. His chief biomedical interests lie in tissue engineering, and he has worked with Dr. Eliot Elson and Dr. Guy Genin with cardiac tissue engineering experiments throughout his undergraduate career. David's other interest include singing and speaking Spanish.
Pat Naureckas
Pat Naureckas is a senior candidate for a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. He also is pursuing a minor in anthropology. Pat previously studied acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome with Dr. Dudek and Dr. Jacobson at the University of Illinois-Chicago Institute of Personalized Respiratory Medicine. Pat is applying to medical school for the upcoming year, with interests in orthopedics and pulmonology. In his free time, Pat plays club volleyball, listens to his collection of vinyl records, and roots for the Chicago Cubs.
